Journaling for Therapy, Health and Peace of Mind

1.    Write down positive ways to actively participate in your therapy

2.    How will you/are you removing stress to achieve emotional health

3.    Mind over “What’s the Matter”

4.   Peace of Mind

We are brought up to believe that emotion is bad.  Emotion, we are told, clouds our minds and interferes with us being objective and how we  analyze facts. Our lives are full of emotional ups and downs like a roller coaster.  We are lucky that most of them fall into the category of minor occurrences.  The Medical Community has long recommended journaling to their patients and clients as part of their ongoing prescription for healing for both physical and emotional health.  Write it down, it is then so much easier to walk away and put the problem behind you.

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Writing in my Journal on a Cloudy Day

Journaling On a Warm Cloudy Day

It is cloudy out today, which makes it a good day to sit down and journal.

What to journal about?  Journal about the things you are thankful for in your life, be it either the past or the present.

I am thankful for the clouds as they block out the blazing Arizona sun, the hint of rain. The beautiful sunrise this morning. The rare quiet of my back yard as I sit here journaling with my cat curled up at my side.

Be thankful!

Chandler, AZ Supports Local Businesses

Last Friday night I had the opportunity to participate in the Chandler Art Walk.  This event happens every third Friday of the month and as I found out it is quite the event.  There were over 65 artist and craft persons showing their craft from original art to handmade items.

What I found gratifying was that our little city of Chandler, Arizona supports their downtown area and their Small Businesses.  The event only lasted from 6 pm to 10 pm but there were lots of couples, families and groups of friends there for the evening strolling up and down the sidewalks taking it all in and buying the crafts and art.  Plus many were having dinner at one of the local restaurants, bistros and tea shops.  There was something to see and do for everyone no matter what the age!!

If your town or city is not doing this, get involved.  Call your local Chamber of Commerce or Town Hall and find out how they and you can support your town and most important the local Small Business.

Journaling – Life Philosophies

Life Philosophies

1.    Reading

2.    Listening

3.    Traveling

4.    Living

We come across, from time to time, words of wisdom that help to build our own unique life’s truth and ideas.  In our own lifetime we stretch and grow in so many ways.  Write down these wise words from friends, family or something you hear in passing.  That way you can always refer back to them and be inspired again and again.

Live, Love and Learn.

The purpose of life is a life of purpose. ~Robert Byrne

Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can. ~Danny Kaye

Keep a record, journal.

Journaling – Spiritual Enrichment

Spiritual Enrichment

1.    Attend lectures, learn something new each day

2.    Prayers

3.    Seek wise words from a trusted elder

We often come across words of wisdom that we want to remember and weave into our lives in some way.  Include these in your Personal Growth Journal. Write them down and pin them up where you can see them. Spiritual awakening and renewal often comes in its own time, we cannot force it regardless of what is happening in our lives.  Keeping a record in our journals, whether it is daily or weekly, provides a reference, a point for whatever steps we choose to take.  If we fail to write them down they can and will be easily forgotten.  Journaling the process of our personal life’s journey, our path, establishes a solid foundation upon which we can build from and from which we can make future decisions.

“We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.”
Stephen Covey

Edge of My Seat, Pins and Needles Time

It is nearly Summer in Arizona.  And part of summer are the Arts and Crafts fairs.  Which is where my pins and needles are coming from.

Two of the biggest art and craft locations in Arizona are Sedona and Chandler.

I have applied for an Arizona sales/tax license, which is a requirement for Sedona.  Wheels of government turn very slowly.  Yikes.  Many pokes with pins and needles.

I have also applied for acceptance in the Chandler Art Walk, which is by invitation.  Additional pins and needles waiting for Dragon Alley Journals to be approved.

It is not like I don’t have anything to do while sitting on the edge of my seat.  I have to create my journals.  Six journals take 2 days to produce.  And if it is special order item, the time increases by the intricacy and details of the item.
