Good Vibrations

Good Vibrations

Did you ever notice when you walk into a room, building or store you can feel either chaos or calm.  Music does that too, calms or excites you.  Some days when I get into may car to drive home, I have a headache and my muscle across my shoulders and neck are tight and ache, yet when I turn on my favorite jazz station I literally can feel my muscles relax.  I then can take a deep breath and feel my whole body start to relax.

Have you ever noticed when you walk into a room where there are two other people, you know instantly if there was an argument or a joke being told.  It’s not just the body language, there is a positive or negative vibration in the air.  You could have your eyes shut and you could feel the vibrations.    Close your eyes right now and stretch out with your senses, what do you feel?

I have found that music is the best way to change or elevate a mood, try it.  Play something jazzy right now, bet you want to dance.

Every morning when I look out my window at the sunrise, I feel a sense of not only beauty by calm.  What a great way to start my day!

Making a DIY Gift

There is nothing more satisfying than creating something with your own hands.  Whether it is a piece of art or a handmade gift for someone you love.

Sometime at the least expected time I get creative ideas, so I always carry my “to do” journal with me.  It is a small leather journal I made that fits in my purse or back pocket of my jeans.  If I didn’t write my ideas down I would never remember them by the time I got home.

The next step after the “Idea” is selecting the materials for the project.  I never throw away scraps from any project, this way I always have most or the materials I need for my next adventure into DIY!!

Make your project, admire your finished work then give it lovingly to that special person.

It doesn’t have to be and elaborate project, make something as simple as a pin cushion or soy candles.  Both projects are simple and will bring you and the person receiving the gift lots of great memories and joy.

Finding Time For Yourself

Me Time

No matter where you are in your life, career girl, newly wed, new mom, mom of teens or empty nester, you need to have time all to yourself!

You need to escape the chaos of your world, your day.  Even if it is just for a short 30 minutes before everyone gets up.  Sit down have a cup of coffee and enjoy the quiet.  Go out on your porch or patio, stroll through your garden, sit in the barn with the cows, take the time, your time.  Take a deep breath, relax, clear your mind and listen to the quiet. Feel your shoulders relax, listen to your mind rejoice!

This is so important in our crazy go, go world of noise and back to back meetings.  This is your time, don’t feel that you have to share it with anyone. Take some time back from the craziness just for you. Your body needs it, your mind needs it, your sanity needs it.

As Hugh Hefner said “Life is too short to be living somebody else’s dream.” So create your own dream by taking “Me Time”.  Life is short and you need to stop the crazy noise even if it is just for a short amount of time every day, but do it every day.  You will be thankful in the days and years to come.

I get up early most mornings just to have time all to myself, then I am ready for my crazy day.  Sometimes I use this time to journal my feelings and thoughts and sometimes I meditate, but however I use it it is My Time.

Stop to smell the coffee!
